Dear Wyman Parents and Families,

Let me introduce myself.  I am Dr. Susan Bowles, and this is my 8th year as principal at Wyman Elementary.  Wyman is a wonderful place to be.  Previously I taught art for all grade levels, kindergarten through college.  In fact many of the Wyman parents are former students of mine.  I completed my doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at MU two years ago. It is an accomplishment which I have been working on for a while.

My husband Steve and I have lived in Rolla for 30 years.  We have two sons, Jeremy and Josh, who have graduated from MU and work in Columbia.  Our daughter Jennifer recently graduated from MU.  She may be substitute teaching this year in Rolla. (All of our children were once students at Col. John B. Wyman Elementary, too!) 

Being the principal at Wyman Elementary is truly my professional dream job.  I enjoy working with the teachers and parents to provide the best possible educational experience for our students. I enjoy working with the students and getting to know them.

Each year we select a theme for the year.  This year the theme is wildlife or a jungle theme.  We are "wild" about learning at Wyman! I look forward to a great year at Wyman full of adventure and discovery.
