Our teaching is based on a Kodaly philosophy. It's recognized throughout the world as a very logical and efficient way of teaching musical literacy. It was inspired by a Hungarian composer by the name of Zoltan Kodaly. Kodaly believed that everyone is born with a musical ability that should be allowed to grow and develop from early childhood. The aim is to instill a love of music in each child. It contributes to the emotional, intellectual, aesthetic and physical development of the child. We desire that your child learn to express themselves through music and have a working knowledge of musical concepts.

Welcome to Truman Music Class!
Your child has a wonderful opportunity when they are in the 3rd and 4th grade. They may join a choir called the Truman Show-Me Singers. We meet every Monday after school from 3:15-4:15. The choir performs 2 concerts per year, performs at other events and have taken field trips to St. Louis to hear the St. Louis Symphony. Go to the Show-Me Singer club page for calendar events.
