Mark Twain Award Book Club

Purpose: To encourage students to read books nominated for the Mark Twain Award and to reward students for reading.
Student Goal: Read all 12 of this year’s nominees, AR test on each book, and post at least one comment on the Library Goddess blog about each book.
Mark Twain Nominees: The library keeps multiple copies of all 12 nominees. It may be necessary to place holds to get the books you want. These books are also available in local bookstores and class book orders.
Blogging: Students must sign up at RMS to be added as participants for the Library Goddess Blog. Parent permission is required. Anyone can read the comments on the blog but only members can write on the blog.
Tentative Deadlines:
September 23: Last day to sign up to participate in blog
December 2: Students who have read at least 6 are eligible for a pizza party
January 27: Students who have read all 12 are eligible to go to the Lit. Festival
Mid-March: Literature Festival in Warrensburg
Literature Festival: If there are more than 30 students eligible the first students to meet the qualifications will be the first invited to attend. There may be a charge for the tickets depending on grant money available in the fall.
