This is the page for Mr. Clark's 2nd hour Reading to Achieve Course.

Reading to Achieve is a course designed to help improve student reading ability through continual silent reading and reflective writing.   In this course, students are expected to read silently every day and respond to what they've read.   Additionally, they are expected to reach individual Accelerated Reader goals.

Reading to Achieve - Syllabus

Reading to Achieve - Genre Requirement Log - This is the document you'll use to track that you've read four books of different genres over the course of the semester.   I'll use the average of the percentage grades on this form to compute your score for this component of your final grade.

Reading to Achieve - Setting your AR Goal - You'll use this to set your AR point goal for the semester.   It's important to challenge yourself, and if I can tell that you're not, I reserve the right to raise your point goal.   If you feel that you've set your goal too high, we can adjust it lower at midterm.

Reading to Achieve - Weekly Journal Prompts - A list of prompts from which you'll choose one to respond to every week in your journals.
